Pakistani Delegation Visits Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) invited by DanLing Tang

On May 19th, a delegation from Pakistan’s Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) visited the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) (GML) in China. The visit, facilitated by an invitation from Professor Tang Danling of GML, aimed to explore future research collaboration in marine and environmental sciences.
The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik, Vice Chancellor of LUAWMS, and included Mr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman (representing the Governor) and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafi from LUAWMS.
During the visit, Professor Tang guided the delegation through several facilities: The exhibition hall of the South China Sea U Team for Comprehensive Research on Ecological Environment and Rights via Remote Sensing,The R&D Studio for Marine Gravimeter, The exhibition hall of the Marine Ranch Engineering Research Center.
Professor Tang Danling chaired a symposium where Dr. Yang Xiaobo, a post-doctoral fellow, presented a report titled "Study on the Western Pacific Transport Mechanism of Fukushima Radioactive Seawater". Discussions focused on international collaborative research regarding the marine ecological environments and remote sensing research.
This exchange enhanced mutual understanding between the research teams and laid a foundation for future China-Pakistan scientific cooperation. The partnership will promote joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and scholarship opportunities in marine and environmental sciences. This collaboration is expected to significantly strengthen LUAWMS’s research capacity and address critical regional marine challenges.
The successful collaboration was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Muhsan Ali Kalhoro, whose longstanding support and initiative were pivotal in uniting both institutions.
