Dear Colleagues and Friends, We are honored to extend a warm invitation to you for the 7th International Symposium on the South China Sea and Indian Ocean - Ecological Environment (IOSCS 2024). This prestigious event is scheduled from March 28th to 30th, 2024, in the vibrant Nansha District of Guangzhou, China. Since its inception in June 2006, the IOSCS series has established itself as a vital platform for researchers, scholars, and policymakers to convene and exchange insights on the ecological and environmental challenges facing the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean. Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting this symposium in various locations, including Guangzhou and Sri Lanka, each time fostering collaboration and advancing our collective understanding of these critical marine ecosystems. We are particularly delighted to host IOSCS 2024 in the Nansha District of Guangzhou, a region renowned for its shipping, international ports, and commitment to marine science research. The Guangzhou Marine Laboratory, the organizing institution for this conference, is a provincial-level laboratory situated in the picturesque Nansha. As we prepare to welcome you to Nansha, we look forward to the opportunity to learn from each other, forge new partnerships, and collectively contribute to the protection and sustainable development of our oceans.
