How is your journey, |
my dear father? |
You left us in such a hurry, |
without any word |
in a afternoon in a
autumn. |
|
“Don’t be sad,” |
I said to mother, |
“daddy is just leaving for a journey |
through a bridge.
The other side may be bright,
although
we don’t know.”
Remember your wide shoulder
I rode,
on the home way from my kindergarten;
Singing songs,
you told me stories about stars.
Remember your large hands
held my small fingers
on the way to my school.
you showed me flowers
on a bridge.
It was your strong step
I followed to my university;
It was your kind smile
when I picked my first star…
Oh, my dear father,
but you left me so early,
when I was just starting to climb a new ladder.
“Never stop,
you still have a long way to go!”
Your voice was around me,
when I was wearing on a Ph.D gown.
I will never forget your eyes
looking at us
in the afternoon
on the day before your birthday. |
Collected many yellow flowers on a hill
in the next morning,
I presented them on your bed
to accompany you;
Holding on your hands
We sang “Happy Birthday”
to see you off to the journey.
Oh,
the rising sun was shining
on your glasses, and on
your golden tie-clip.
So many trips and journeys,
we had taken together,
my dear father,
sharing your love to us
in every single step.
Oh, now, you are alone
on your way,
How is your journey?
What kind of flowers
you have found next to the bridge?
How many stars
you have seen on your way?
and what kind of music you can hear
everyday?
How is your journey,
my dear father?
It has been almost eight years
since you left to the bridge.
Take great care, please,
our love is always
surrounding you! |
