						Ladies and Gentlemen,  
						
						On behalf of the IOSCS-Typhoon 2015 
						organizing committee, I have great pleasure to invite 
						and welcome you to the "The 5th International Symposium 
						of Remote Sensing of the Indian Ocean-South China Sea 
						and Typhoon Sciences, with the theme of International 
						Cooperation and Research of Marine Ecological 
						Environment for the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road".  
						
						"The International Workshops on the 
						Indian Ocean and the South China Sea" were held in 2006, 
						2008, 2010 and 2014; "Cross Strait Workshops on Typhoon 
						Impacts and Crisis Management" were held in 2008, 2010, 
						2011, and 2013. The 5th International Symposium of 
						Remote Sensing of the Indian Ocean-South China Sea and 
						Typhoon Sciences (IOSCS-Typhoon 2015) will be held on 
						24-26 Aug, 2015 in Guangdong University of Foreign 
						Studies, Guangzhou, China.  
						
						This gathering of scientists and experts 
						in the ecological effects and emergency management of 
						typhoons and the related fields along the Maritime Silk 
						Road marks a closer mutual cooperation among the nations 
						to exchange marine science and technological advances. I 
						hope that international cooperation will be extended 
						through this symposium.  
						
						I am very glad to have this opportunity 
						to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the committee 
						members of IOSCS-Typhoon 2015, and all the session 
						conveners/chairs for their support and help from the 
						beginning up to now. I wish to express my appreciations 
						to all the participants for your interest and 
						attendance!  
						
						Guangzhou is a very beautiful city by the 
						Pearl River and the South China Sea; Guangdong 
						University of Foreign Studies, located at the foot of 
						Baiyun Mountain, boasts an elegant environment with 
						fresh air. I wish you an enjoyable and worthwhile 
						experience in Guangzhou, and enjoy the conference in the 
						Guangdong University of Foreign Studies!
