(1) GuangMing's paper "Offshore and nearshore chlorophyll increases induced by typhoon and typhoon rain (Guangming Zheng and DanlingTang) has been accepted by Marine Ecology Progress Series (SCI).

 (2) Sunny's paper "Effect of 1998 El Nino on the distribution of phytoplankton in the South China Sea" (Hui ZHAO and DanLing TANG) is accepted by J. of Geophysical Research (Ocean) (SCI).

40. Lingzis attended “International Workshop on Dust Strom and Marine Ecology” in August 2006 in Inner Mongolia.

 

39. Dr. Xin Jin visited us

Dr. Xin Jin, Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, University of California Los Angeles (IGPP/UCLA) visited us in Aug 2006. He give a seminar “Modeling the ocean biogeochemical cycle in the North Pacific Ocean”.

 

38. Lingzis participated “The 36th COSPAR SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLY” in Beijing in July 2006, chaired Biological and Physical Oceanographic Processes from Satellite Data / Marine biogeochemistry–Marine applications. She gave two presentations: (1) Satellite observation of seasonal phytoplankton off the Yangtze River associated with river discharge, wind and tide; (2) satellite analysis of influence of tsunami on marine ecosystem in the Indian Ocean

36.Professor He FL (何芳良) visited us in July 2006, and gave us a talk “Population Dynamics, Niche Theory, and Neutral Macroecology”.
    加拿大生态学家何芳良博士于
725日访问了中科院南海海洋研究所, 并做了题为“Macroecology of

biodiversity: patterns, theories, data and conservation” 的学术报告,介绍了他在生物多样性和理论生态学方面的研究。
    何芳良博士是加拿大Alberta大学可更新资源系(
Department of Renewable Resources; http://www.rr.ualberta.ca/people/fhe/index.html)的教授,还是加拿大生物多样性和景观生态模型研究方面的研究主席(http://www.chairs.gc.ca/),在生物多样、群落生态学和空间统计方面有较深的造诣,是5个权威生态期刊的编委。他建立的生物多样性理论和模型被广泛引用,并且产生了深远的影响,这些模型不仅适用于陆地生态系统,而且适用于海洋生态系统的研究,对海洋生态研究学者有很大的启发。报告结束后何芳良博士跟遥感与海洋生态学科组的研究生进行了学术交流。

        67日,中国科学院南海海洋所举办了印度洋和海洋灾害(海啸)研究国际研讨会,来自印度、斯里兰卡和中国等国家专家学者和研究生近40人参加。

       
研讨会由该所LED重点实验室研究员唐丹玲博士主持。施平所长在开幕词中介绍了南海海洋所的科研情况,并向与会的各位国内外专家学者表示欢迎,感谢他们对南海海洋所印度洋研究的支持;LED重点实验室主任王东晓博士主持了会议的2个部分。研讨会共分6个部分,各位专家报告了最新的研究成果,内容包括遥感研究自然灾害的早期现象,印度洋海洋调查的相关组织介绍,2004年海啸期间印度洋叶绿素和水温变化等方面的研究。

       该会是第一次在中科院南海海洋所举办的有关印度洋研究的专题会议。会上,唐丹玲介绍了主持的国家自然科学基金(遥感分析2004年南亚大海啸对印度洋叶绿素时空分布的影响,NSFC40576053)进展情况。大家对感兴趣的问题进行了广泛的交流和热烈的讨论;黄良民副所长致会议闭幕词,强调印度洋是南海海洋所三期创新的研究重点之一,指出此次国际研讨会是所三期创新印度洋研究的起点,交流的成果为今后进一步的合作研究奠定了基础。本次研讨会得到唐丹玲博士的国家自然科学基金和百人计划基金资助,LED重点实验室给予了大力支持和赞助。
